HOW IT WORKS

Compression that
keeps its shape.

The eccentric sleeve drives the main shaft in a controlled gyratory motion. The mantle approaches and recedes from the concave, compressing rock in the chamber until it reaches the set discharge opening.

01

Feed evenly

A full chamber keeps the crushing force distributed and protects the liners. A belt scale or level sensor makes the process repeatable.

02

Set the CSS

Hydraulic adjustment changes the closed-side setting without stopping the machine, so operators can move between product sizes with confidence.

03

Release safely

Hydraulic overload protection opens the chamber when uncrushable metal enters, then resets automatically for fast recovery.

WHY CRONUS

Designed around uptime,
not just output.

01

Hydraulic precision

Adjust the discharge setting from the control room and keep a stable product curve across liner wear.

02

Protection by design

Hydraulic cavity release protects the frame and reduces downtime when tramp iron reaches the chamber.

03

Better shape, fewer fines

Optimised chamber geometry and high reduction ratios improve cubical aggregate shape with less recirculation.

04

Serviceable locally

Wear parts, inspection points and an experienced support team make routine maintenance straightforward.

MATERIALS & APPLICATIONS

Built for the rocks
that build the world.

From a highway aggregate line to a hard-rock mine, the same disciplined chamber selection turns difficult feed into saleable product.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Before you size
the crusher.

Clear guidance for the decisions that affect uptime, product shape and total cost of ownership.

Ask an engineer directly
What does a cone crusher do in a crushing circuit?

A cone crusher is usually installed after a jaw crusher for secondary or tertiary crushing. It compresses rock between a rotating mantle and a stationary concave to reduce size and shape the product.

Which materials are suitable for CRONUS cone crushers?

Granite, basalt, river gravel, iron ore, copper ore, limestone, quartzite and other medium-to-high hardness materials (typically up to Mohs-style hardness factor f ≤ 16, subject to final test work).

How do I choose between HPT and GDP?

HPT multi-cylinder models suit high capacity, frequent setting changes and demanding secondary/tertiary duty. GDP single-cylinder models prioritise a compact, rigid structure and straightforward operation. We size both against your feed and product curve.

What is CSS and why does it matter?

CSS is the closed-side setting, the smallest distance between mantle and concave during a cycle. It is a key control for product top size, capacity and power draw.

Can the crusher pass tramp iron?

Hydraulic protection systems are designed to release the chamber when uncrushable material enters, then return to the operating position. A metal detector and upstream magnet are still recommended.

How often should liners be replaced?

Liner life depends on abrasiveness, feed distribution, chamber and operating practice. We recommend tracking wear profiles and ordering a replacement set before the profile becomes unstable.

What information do you need for a quote?

Material, feed top size, moisture, hardness or abrasion data, target products, required capacity, existing equipment and site power are enough to begin a useful proposal.

Do you provide mobile crushing plants?

Yes. We can configure mobile jaw + cone + screen combinations for quarry, road and recycling applications, including layout, commissioning and wear-part planning.

What certifications are available?

CRONUS can provide CE-related documentation, ISO quality system records and product certificates as applicable to the project and destination market. Ask for the document pack with your quotation.

How quickly can I get technical support?

Contact our team by WhatsApp or email with your model, symptoms and a short video. We triage the request, identify safe next steps and coordinate parts or field support when needed.

Can you help with a complete plant, not just the crusher?

Yes. CRONUS engineers can review the upstream jaw, screening, conveyors, recirculation and dust-control interfaces so the cone crusher performs as part of a balanced circuit.

Where is CRONUS located?

CRONUS is the cone-crusher business of Guilin Mining Machinery. Our sales contact is based at Building 2, No. 8666 Hunan Highway, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, China.
